Telescopic Sliding Systems

telescopic sliding door system

Telescopic sliding systems are designed for two or more doors, where all doors can be slid to one side simultaneously. One door can be slid next to the other so that all doors are resting on one side of the door frame. There are a few different types of telescopic systems that we sell.

Progressive Telescopic Systems

Progressive telescopic belt systems allow for a more modern and sleeker look, all doors can smoothly arrive in an open or closed position simultaneously. Progressive Telescopic systems use a belt drive system on the top of the doors. This moves the doors in harmony, so all doors arrive in the open or closed position at the same time. For 3 door systems, two belts are used to join all 3 doors together. An example of this system is the SAHECO SF-A81.

Simple Telescopic Systems

Simple telescopic systems such as the SAHECO Excellence Telescopic System are a cheaper alternative, and they do not come with a belt system like the progressive systems. A simple telescopic system works by having bumper connectors from one door to the next door. As you pull one door open, the bumpers connect to slide the next door so that it follows the first door. A system like this is not as smooth as a progressive system, though the sliding system itself is still quiet, you may notice that the doors bump together.

Telescopic Pocket Systems

Telescopic pocket doors work in the same way, the main difference being that all doors will end up in a pocket on either the right or left side of the door. This allows the doors to close a large gap with only one pocket. An example of a telescopic pocket system is the iMpero Telescopic Pocket Door Kit.  This system links the two doors with a belt drive at the top of the doors allowing them to move in harmony.
