Sliding Stacking Door Systems

In this blog we will be looking at sliding stacking door systems. These systems are suitable for both timber doors and frameless glass doors.

What are Sliding Stacking Doors?

Sliding stacking systems are bespoke systems designed for multiple timber or frameless glass doors which slide out individually and stack at one end of a track. Doors can end up in one of two positions; either parallel stacking, where doors lie parallel to the track, or perpendicular stacking, where doors stack against a wall at the end of a track.

How do they Work?

Doors on sliding stacking systems are attached by top and bottom tracks. Frameless glass doors are attached using a frame at the top and bottom of the door, whereas timber doors have a recessed top and bottom track which are cut into the door. Each door is bolted separately, which holds each door in place when doors are closed. One door can also be pivoting, acting as a passage door whilst all other doors remain closed.

Are there any Restrictions?

Like all sliding systems, there are some weight and dimensional restrictions for our sliding stacking systems.

Timber doors must have a minimum thickness of 45mm. The system is suitable for door widths ranging from 60cm-120cm. There is also a weight restriction of 150kg per door.

For frameless glass systems, door must be between 10mm-12mm thick. The width and weight restrictions are the same for the timber system, with a width range of 60-120cm, and a maximum weight of 150kg per door.

Costs and Ordering

Our sliding stacking systems are bespoke systems, designed to fit the customers requirements, though they are not cheap. The cost of a system ranges from £1200-£2000 per panel, so the more panels in a system, the more costly a system is.
