Stainless Steel Sliding Systems

Stainless steel system for glass doors - Projeto 150G

In this blog we will be looking at different stainless-steel systems. At Doorstuff we offer stainless steel systems for both timber and glass doors, and we have both top and bottom rolling kits available in stock.

Why choose a Stainless-Steel System?

Stainless steel systems offer a more modern and luxury look, they are very versatile, and tracks are supplied in various lengths, though these can be cut down to the right length for your door. Rubber coated rollers are used on stainless-steel systems to ensure a quiet and smooth slide.

Stainless-Steel Systems for Timber

The two systems we offer for timber doors are both top hung systems. The Projeto Xtra for timber and the Projeto 150 timber sliding door systems are available in track lengths of 2m, 3m and 4m, and both systems are designed for doors thicker than 25mm. The main difference between these systems is the maximum door weight, with the Projeto Xtra taking doors of up to 240kgs, and the Projeto 150 taking doors of up to 120kgs, however the Projeto Xtra is a better looking system. The COBURN Flat track is also a top hung stainless steel system, with a barn style finish. This system takes doors of up to 100kg.

Stainless-Steel Systems for Glass

We have a range of stainless-steel systems for glass doors, with both top hung and bottom rolling systems available.

Top Hung Glass Systems

We supply 3 different top hung systems for frameless glass doors. The Projeto Xtra for glass is designed for toughened glass doors either 10mm or 12mm in thickness, with a maximum door weight of 240kgs, tracks are available from 2m-4m. The Projeto 150G is also designed for toughened glass doors of either 10mm or 12mm thick, the maximum door weight for this system is 120kgs and tracks are supplied in 2m, 3m and 4m. Finally, the Projeto 45G is a lighter weight system designed for glass doors either 6mm or 8mm in thickness, with a maximum door weight of 45kgs. This system is only available in a 2m track length and does not come with an anti-jump block, so we would not recommend this system in a home with small children or dogs who are likely to knock in to the system.

Optional Extras for Top Hung Systems

Both timber and glass systems co me with wall mounting brackets as standard in the kits, however we also offer glass wall and ceiling mounting brackets, with a different quantity of brackets required depending on the length of your track. It is important that you purchase the correct number of brackets for the track length that you have, the quantities are;

2m track – 5 brackets
3m track – 8 brackets
4m track – 9 brackets

Jointing kits are available for any top hung, glass or timber Projeto systems other than the 45G. These are used if two tracks are required to be joined together.

Bottom Rolling Glass Systems

Bottom rolling systems are designed so that the door rolls on bottom rollers, and the top track is a guide. We have one bottom rolling glass stainless steel system, the Terra 120G. The system is designed for frameless glass doors of up to 120kgs, and a door thickness of either 8mm or 10mm, track lengths can be supplied in 2m and 4m for both single and double doors.
