In this blog we will be looking at designer sliding door systems. These systems are designed to look nicer than standard aluminium top hung systems, and are often used as display features in homes.
Designer Systems for Timber
The designer systems we have on offer are heavy duty as well as being designed to look good. The highest rated system, the ‘Projeto Xtra Designer Door Gear’ can take doors up to 240kgs, whilst the lightest rated system in this category, the ‘Flat Track Barn Style Door Gear’ can take doors of up to 100kgs.
There are two types of designer systems we have available for timber doors, rustic barn style systems and stainless steel systems.
Rustic Barn Door Gear
Our rustic barn style system, the COBURN Flat Track, is designed to be suitable for loft apartments, cafes and restaurants, rustic kitchens, art galleries and museums, barn doors, timber houses and any other location where a traditional rustic look is required. This system is also ideal where space saving is essential.
Featuring black rustic style tracks and nylon bearing wheels, this system offers a smooth silent operation across a flat bar for timber doors weighing up to 100kg. There is also an optional soft brake for this system, which allows doors to close softly and avoids the door slamming into the bumpers at the end of the track. It is also possible to use this system for double doors, with the additional need for an extra door pack, which can be purchased separately on the Flat Track page.
Stainless Steel Systems for Timber
We have two designer stainless steel systems for timber doors, the Projeto 150 and the Projeto Xtra. Both systems come in a brushed stainless steel finish, and are available in lengths of 2m, 3m and 4m tracks. The main difference between these two systems is the maximum door weight the system can take. The Projeto 150 designer door gear is designed to be used on timber doors weighing up to 120kgs, whereas the Projeto Xtra designer door gear can take doors of up to 240kgs. Both systems come with rubber covered rollers, single rollers for the Projeto 150 and double rollers for the Projeto Xtra, these rollers give a smooth, quiet action.
Designer Systems for Frameless Glass
Our designer systems for frameless glass are the same as our timber ones, instead they are designed to be used with frameless glass doors. The Projeto 150G takes frameless glass doors of up to 120kgs, whilst the Projeto XtraG can take frameless glass doors up to 240kgs. Both systems require toughened glass of either 10mm or 12mm thick and come with rubber covered rollers for a silent and smooth slide.
